Where Money Comes From Matters
The Museum of Change Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We believe the source of funding matters.
The Museum does not accept government funding. We are intentional and selective about the financial support we receive. The traditional charity model puts the organization in a position of need and the donor in a position of power. We are questioning that structure.
We are creating a model in which value and power are not concentrated on either side of the transaction.
Money is neutral. The question is what happens when it enters the field.
Scarcity can turn money into fear, control or the need to accumulate.
We are interested in building a relationship with money that isn't governed by scarcity.
Money is a resource. It is not the authority.
We would rather grow deliberately with the right support than grow quickly at the expense of our independence.
